<desc>The anatomic distribution and potential arterial flow patterns of the circumflex scapular artery were investigated by Microfil injection. These studies demonstrated that the circumflex scapular artery lies within the dorsal thoracic fascia, which plays a significant role in the circulation of the overlying skin and subcutaneous tissue. We conclude that scapular/parascapular flaps are fasciocutaneous flaps, the dorsal thoracic fascia can be transferred as a free flap without its overlying skin and subcutaneous tissue, and intercommunication exists between the myocutaneous perforators of the latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap and the vascular plexus of the dorsal thoracic fascia. We present microvascular cases in which the vascular properties of the dorsal thoracic fascia facilitated wound closure with free fascia flaps or expanded cutaneous or myocutaneous flaps.</desc>

<title>Testimonials about Plastic Surgery Seattle, Jourdan Gottlieb. board certified M.D. Specializing in cosmetic breast augmentations in the Seattle Washingotn area.</title>
    <url>http://www.plasticsurgeryseattle.net/seattle_plastic_surgery_testimonials.html</url>
<desc>Actual Patient Testimonials, I felt compelled to write a letter of appreciation for the service I received as a client of Dr. Gottlieb and his staff. Initially, I had had a physical exam and consultation by three different reputable plastic surgeons, including Dr. Gottlieb. I chose Dr. Gottlieb because of the friendly professional attitudes from the receptionist to the surgical nurses. I felt I was having a shared experience.

After having the good fortune to breast feed two babies, I had almost no breast volume left. For years afterward, I felt self-conscious, even with my husband. I used external breast enhancers, but I was uncomfortable in locker rooms and even medical exams. I only ever spoke of my feelings to my husband and my closest friend, and neither one understood how it affected me.

After my first visit and consultation with Dr. Gottlieb, I felt confident that breast augmentation would put all of those feelings of having inadequate breasts behind me. I found out that I was not alone and that many women feel strongly about their self-image and have the courage to make changes to feel better about themselves.

The surgery was almost two years ago and I still feel it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I don't even think about the enhancement, as such, because it is so much a part of me now. I am truly happy with the results. I feel I'm height/weight proportionate and I have a more confident self image. I am forever grateful to Dr. Gottlieb and his staff, and I would be happy to give support and testimony to anyone considering this type of enhancement.

Thank you again,

S.J.

I'd like to start by saying what I wonderful experience I've had with Dr. Gottlieb. I was sort of frightened about getting my surgery, but Dr. Gottlieb and his staff made me so comfortable, and offered answers to my questions any time I had one to ask! All of the information they provided was very easy to understand, and very to the point. The day of my surgery, I was so excited to see everyone! They are very personal, more like friends than a medical staff. I felt as if I was enjoying myself at a spa, rather than getting surgery! I have already referred Dr. Gottlieb to a couple of "serious" people and will continue to do so.

Thank you,

K.C.

I am writing this letter in order to share the experience I have had with Dr. Jourdan Gottlieb.

When I first started looking for a Plastic Surgeon to perform my breast augmentation, I was extremely picky and very selective. I wanted a doctor, staff, and environment with which I felt comfortable and at home. After six different consultations with various surgeons, I saw Dr. Gottlieb. From the moment I walked in until the time I left until the time I left from my consultation, I felt positive that this was the doctor and staff I trusted enough to perform the surgery that would change my life.

I had the surgery done almost a year ago, and could not be happier with the results. The treatment and care I received from Dr. Gottlieb and the staff was phenomenal. Any questions or concerns I had prior to the surgery or after the surgery were always welcomed and answered with the highest quality. I would definitely recommend, as I have already, to anyone considering this surgery to use Dr. Gottlieb because of the genuine way he deals with his patients and exceptional service he and his staff provide each individual.

Thanks again for the great results!

P.B.

I was very pleased with everything to do with my surgery - from the consultation until now, 6 months after the surgery. Everyone at Dr. Gottlieb's office treated me very well and seemed to go out of their way to make sure I was happy.

I would recommend Dr. Gottlieb to friends or anyone who might be interested in breast augmentation.

D.G.

Dear Dr. Gottlieb,

From the moment of my first consultation, I felt secure and confident that I had made the right decision to have breast augmentation surgery, and that I had chosen the best surgeon and staff to enhance my needs.

You and your staff provided me with much needed information about my procedure as well as any questions, concerns, or fears that I had at the time.

I entered this decision to have surgery with the notion that this was going to be a huge procedure followed by pain, as do many people when they have an operation. I could not have been more wrong. First of all, this was the best decision I could have ever made for myself and I am thrilled with the results. The surgery was a piece of cake and was over before I knew it. Given the chance to do it all over again, I would do it in a heartbeat!

You made my experience extremely positive - everyone took such good care of me!

Thank you for everything, and I would like you to know that I would recommend you to anyone!

Sincerely,

F.H.

I just wanted to say how pleased I was with the procedure I received from Dr. Gottlieb. He really listened to my desires and I have been so happy with the results. I have recommended him to every one I know. I was very impressed with his skill and the experience as a whole. Even when I had some complications he was so helpful and able to answer my questions. Thank you to everyone who made my experience a positive one. </desc>

    <title>Plastic Surgery Frequently Asked Questions</title>
    <url>http://www.plasticsurgeryseattle.net/plastic_surgery_faq.html</url>
<desc>Who is a candidate for plastic surgery?
The best plastic surgery candidate is someone with realistic expectations and an understanding of the limitations set by medicine, technology, and each patient's own body. Good candidates have a strong self-image, and well-developed reason for pursuing a plastic surgery procedure. They are looking for improvement of a physical trait, knowing that while this positive change may enhance their self-image, it will not change people's perception of them. Dangerous motivations for plastic surgery would be purely doing it to gain popularity, or attempting to reverse recent life crises.

Is there a "right" age to pursue plastic surgery?
There isn't a specific rule as to the right age for plastic surgery. In fact, there isn't an age specific procedure. This should be determined more on a case by case basis, looking at the individual's unique body type and aging process. Of course, there are age tendencies for certain procedures. Facelifts generally are not performed on patients under 30, as mini-lifts or laser procedures might be suggested instead, but this is not a rule. Otoplasty, or ear pinning surgery, on the other hand, is appropriate for adults or patients as young as 5 years old.

Is plastic surgery covered by insurance?
When the plastic surgery procedure is being performed for cosmetic reasons, insurance will not be involved. When the surgery is necessary for reconstructive purposes, however, it may be partially or fully covered by insurance.

What is the difference between cosmetic and reconstructive surgery?
Cosmetic plastic surgery is performed to enhance or change a healthy, normal, functioning part of the body. Nothing but the patient's desire for physical improvement necessitates cosmetic plastic surgery. Reconstructive surgery, however, is intended to correct a physical abnormality caused by a birth defect, disease or tumor, physical trauma, or infection. The goal of reconstructive surgery may be to restore function or to achieve physical normality.

Where is the plastic surgery performed?
Most plastic surgeons are affiliated with local hospitals and can arrange operating room times as needed. Many carry out a similar procedure at surgical centers, while other surgeons have private surgery suites in their own office space. You'll find that many plastic surgeons fit into all or most of these categories, and offer options to each patient. They would then help you choose your surgery location based on comfort, safety, scheduling issues, and sometimes geography issues (which surgery location is closest to home, etc.).

How much pain is involved in plastic surgery?
Each plastic surgery procedure carries a different level of discomfort, and requires different methods of anesthetizing. In most situations, the patient's preferences for safety and comfort, as well as personal pain threshold, can help determine what type of anesthesia will be used. Very minor, non-invasive surgeries might involve a topical anesthetic, while minor invasive surgeries may call for local anesthetic or local combined with sedation. In more involved surgery, general anesthesia is usually used.

Is plastic surgery an outpatient or inpatient?
Most plastic surgery procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. In some cases, usually when the surgery is very extensive or complications arise, an overnight stay might be required.

Can I finance my plastic surgery procedure?
Yes you can. Plastic Surgery Seattle works with patient financing groups like Credit Care and will provide you with an application to fill out at the consultation. Many banks provide financing for elective procedures as well. Plastic surgery is something that is more and more often financed, which has helped it become more accessible to everyone.</desc>
